Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
›What is SubShoot?
A directory and network for photographers, videographers, editors, and studios. Clients use it to find local pros with published prices; pros use it to subcontract work to each other — second shooters, B-cam ops, drone pilots, and overflow edits.
›Is SubShoot free?
Yes. During early access everything is free: listing your business, claiming a listing, browsing, inquiries, and the gig board. We plan to introduce payment processing with a service fee on completed gigs later — listings will stay free.
›Why does a profile say 'Listed' or 'unverified'?
Those listings were compiled from public business information and haven't been claimed by their owner yet. Unverified listings show no rates or reviews. If it's your business, claiming it is free and takes about two minutes.
›How do I claim my listing?
Go to the claim page, submit your business details with a link that proves ownership (your website or Instagram), and we verify and hand you control — usually within one business day.
›How do published rates work?
Claimed pros publish a structured rate card: hourly, half-day, full-day, or per-deliverable pricing. Rates are set entirely by each pro, and final quotes can vary by scope — but you'll never start from 'DM for pricing.'
›What are the tiers — Listed, Verified, Pro, Master?
They're earned trust levels. Listed = unclaimed public-data listing. Verified = claimed with identity checks. Pro = completed SubShoot gigs with peer reviews. Master = sustained top-percentile peer ratings. Ranks are never for sale.
›How does the gig board work?
Pros who are overbooked post gigs with real budgets, dates, and deliverables — second-shooter days, drone add-ons, edit backlogs. Other pros apply with their portfolio and rate. After the gig, both sides review each other.
›Does SubShoot handle payments?
Not yet. During early access, pros and clients arrange payment directly. Payments with escrow are on the roadmap.
›How do I remove my business from SubShoot?
Email hello@subshoot.com or use the contact form. We remove listings promptly on request from the owner.
›How do reviews work?
Reviews on SubShoot are peer reviews only — written by pros about pros after completed gigs. We don't import reviews from other platforms.
